Windows Updates shouldn't fail constantly or take hours to complete
I have a number of 2016 servers. It seems like 99% of them fail when doing automatic updates. I am able to install them manually by going through sconfig and selecting option 6 but it takes FOREVER. During installation, the CPU or Memory isn't maxed out at 100% so I have no idea what is causing it to take forever. All other previous versions of Windows run and install updates just fine in the same VMware environment.

Add support to multi language server core 2019 when running on containers
Default servercore:1809 image came with en-US.
- At this moment, for Server Core 2019, you have to install language pack by yourself: https://docs.microsoft.com/pt-br/windows-server/get-started-19/rel-notes-19.
- The way to do it, is using lpksetup: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4466511/cannot-configure-language-pack-for-windows-server-2019
- But lpksetup.exe crashes when running on containerI've described step by step how to reproduce lpksetup.exe error on container, **producing crash report logs** that I've extracted from container.
All here: https://github.com/sanguedemonstro/docker-playground/issues/1#issuecomment-453078549With extra details here: https://github.com/sanguedemonstro/docker-playground/blob/master/langpack-on-servercore2019.md#why-am-i-playing-around-this-subject
But I'm not able to understand logs or fix windows base image. And I can't open support ticket once I'm not MS partner.
So if anyone could help I'm…

Fix Windows Server Updates
Today's Windows Updates are horrible and very unreliable and Windows Updates are one of the most riskiest operations. Microsoft should take the inspiration from Linux environment as Linux implementation of OS updates is informative, transparent to administrators, it's very nice to work with and administrators have all relevant info in case of any issue or update management. And Linux updates are very reliable.
But in case of Windows Server updates they are a nightmare. Using sconfig provides only very basic information, when updates are downloaded with no information is provided about progress, about downloading process, details about downloaded packages etc.…

Resolve the Windows Server 2019 bug stopping it from booting on certain servers with UEFI enabled when the Hyper-V Role is installed.
There's a pretty big problem on some servers (at least two Dell PET Servers I've tried so far) that stops Server 2019 from booting/goes into a boot loop once the Hyper-V role is installed.

Do not remove Essentials Role in Server 2019
We still need a Windows Version for small customers getting easy connection to Azure and Office 365. So do NOT remove the Essential Role out of Version 2019.

Stop the "Windows update madness" on WS2016!
Dear Microsoft Windows Server team. We would like _complete control_ over when we would like our our WS2016 to install windows updates! No more slow / timeconsuming server restarts because of "Getting Windows ready. Do not turn off your computer" messages when we just would like a quick restart of a production server.. No more TiWorker.exe using 100% of a CPU core during "*********" and so on.. And please fix the issues with '2017-08 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4035631)' asap. Thank you.

Fix .NET-incompatibility with Essentials Dashboard on Server 2016
With the latest .Net updates the dashboard is not useable anymore: Warnings can't be ignored or deleted, computers can't be removed...
Only the progressbar appears, cpu usage rises to 100% and dashboard gets stuck or crashes.46 votes -
Make ISO hashes / checksums publicly accessible
Currently volume licensing and most other MS portals don't provide (SHA, MD5 or any) filehashes.
I learned that later this year MS is planning to update the VLSC portal to support this. That's good news.It would be a bonus to see the hashes on a true public part of the portals or otherwise on www.microsoft.com without any form of subscription.
Reason is that only a limited number of persons have an account that can actually download ISO’s from VLSC. On the other hand, a lot of IT admins cannot download themselves but use these ISO’s and have to rely…6 votes -
See to who a GPO (and a new Version of it) is applied from Group Policy Management Console
It would be great if it could be displayed directly in the console to which users and computers a new or changed policy could already be applied.

Significantly increase the number of Banned IPs that can be stored in ADFS.
ADFS 2019 allows for 300 IPs to be added to the "Banned IP list"
As there are nearly four billion public IPs on the internet, 300 is woefully inadequate.
Small customers that are only trying to block a few users aren't likely using ADFS anyway. Large organizations that rely on ADFS will hit the 300 limit almost immediately.
I'd like to see this number raised to 65538 (/16) or something similar.

Fix Windows Server 2019 Active Directory Domain Controller and Environment Bugs
It would appears I'm not the only one experiencing the issue, I did a fresh install promote it to a Windows Server 2016 Forest and Domain AD. After the reboot I realize the Start Menu settings cannot be changed, next I found that whole load of permission error whenever I try to launch anything that requires Administrator privilege including Server Manager, Settings and Control Panel. After that I went to check the permission settings of the C drive and Windows folder as compared to previous version of Windows Server, "Authenticated Users" is no longer part of the default permissions. This…

Show file extensions by default
Show file extension by default on Windows Server. I can understand why the extension is hidden by default on the Desktop OS but for server it should be visible.

ADFS - Force authentication method per relying party on IDP-side
related to ADFS 2016:
it would be great if we can force a specific authentication method at ADFS for a relying party. in general forms and certificate authtentication is possible for our users, but for specific apps only certificate should be possible for security reasons. adding certificate as MFA is not a good solution from the users point of view because they will be forced to enter first their credentials before they have to use a certificate (which is more secure than forms and because of this sufficient).

Add-WindowsCapability -online does not work if no internet or behind an enterprise firewall
I want to install OpenSSH server using this command:
Add-WindowsCapability -Online -Name OpenSSH.Server~~~~0.0.1.0It cannot be done without internet access or behind a company firewall, even with full standard internet access.
We should be able to download some kind of package to solve this.

AGPM
Continue support and updates for Advanced Group Policy Management. Our company uses AGPM extensively and would like to see future enhancements and support continued. If there is a replacement Microsoft product, it doesn't seem to be found.

Server 2012 R2 VM Live Migration to Server 2019, VM won't boot after shutting down
If you use Hyper V Live Migration from Server 2012 R2 (not sure if any other OS) to migrate to Server 2019. The migration works but as soon as you shut down the VM and try to start it again, will no longer boot. It turns on/off 3 times and remains off.
I also did cluster to cluster migration in VMM and this is the same behaviour.
It looks like it is due the migrated MAC address, if I set the VM to get a new dynamic mac address it seems to work. If I set it to it's original…
