Hyper V bug with saving before restore
When restoring another state (and discarding the current state) the machine "Saves" the current memory to the disk first, and then discards what it saved.
This started with Server 2016.
To reproduce the issue restore a previous machine state and discard the current state ... "saving" will come up before it restores the selected state.
This is silly and adds quite a lot of overhead (when dealing with ~200GB in memory), to the point that it is quicker for me to turn off the machine first, restore the state, then start the VM.

Suggest to include the ability to record action the user makes on any Windows application (audio/visual) and be able to share with others
make it possible to record (audio/visual) screen content and share via other windows apps to others. Example; Click on record (visual/audio) button whatever content is on screen and add audio, then send e-ail with content to other user/s.

Still no support for RemoteFX (using GPU and OpenCL), and Enhanced Session mode in Linux guests via the "hvbus" linux driver, and xrdp on Linux is still difficult to reach in GEN2 guests.
The "hypervfb" device for framebuffer is really too slow and very unfriendly (need to tweak the GRUB boot config to specify the resolution, not needed in Windows guests over Hyper-V, or any guests in Oracle VirtualBox whose virtual display driver over its VMbus supports the detection and dynamic change of multiple resolutions, by just resizing its own VMconnect client).
Working with Linux guests on Hyper-V…2 votes -
Hyper-V Manager, can't turn off crashed VM while it's in Shutting Down state. Need to kill the process.
Hello,
While working with Hyper-V Manager and hosting some VM's. While the VM crashes or it's frozen and you try to softly Shut it down. It's stays in this state for long time, and you can't do anything else. Nor interrupt shutting down or Turn the power off. There could be some way to force the Turn Off task while it's frozen.

Windows Defender Automatic update
Give us the option to allow Windows Defender on Windows Server 2016 to update automatically.
Why would anyone want to wait for a maintenance window to install windows defender updates via windows update? If I turn on automatically install updates everything would be installed including definition updates but the server might reboot because of system and security updates.

ReFs RAW and metadata inconsistency issues
We have a storage spaces two way mirror two column setup with ReFs.
Each time the DataIntegrityScan runs we get a warning.
Volume metadata inconsistency was detected and was repaired successfully.
Volume name: D:
Metadata reference: 0x204
Range offset: 0x0
Range length (in bytes): 0x0
Bytes repaired: 0x3000
Status: STATUS_SUCCESSAnd each time Windows update requires a reboot the volume is detected as RAW!
If we reboot the server again it is detected as ReFs.
Running Windows Server 2016 Standard.

ADFS WID Port 80 Requirement
ADFS WID replication requires port 80 to be open. This is not outlined anywhere in this document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/identity/ad-fs/deployment/best-practices-securing-ad-fs
It is outlined here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/adfs/set-adfssyncproperties?view=win10-ps
"Note: The primary server must be accessible via HTTP on port 80 from the secondary server."
Please add this note to the best practices document.

Remove/hide Power button/icon from the Start Menu
Add a way, preferably via GPO, to remove/hide the Power Button from the Start Menu, or a way to move the Log Off action to the Power Button.
When you enable "Remove and prevent access to the Shut Down, Restart, Sleep..." in a GPO. and remove the disconnect action, the Power Button still remains, and just opens up a blank menu. And I don't want my users to just see a useless button in the Start Menu.

Hello, after applying the below listed patches this past Sunday on Windows Server 2016 dedicated to File / Print services, searching for files on Windows Server 2016 results in the search that appears to be searching but unable to display properly.
If possible I'll send a picture comparing Windows Explorer search results from both Win10 & Win7 (both systems are up to date with latest patches, though the same view from Win 10 happens on Win 2016), a description of what I'm seeing can be described as follows:
Win 10 / 2016; you see the file name only, the rest…

Support for Controlled Folder Access
Windows 10 offers the feature of "Controlled Folder Access", where only specific executables are allowed to make modifications to specified paths.
This same feature should be available in Windows Server.
The use-case I have in mind is a backup application. The application backs up data (either from the local server, or multiple remote servers). Data is written to a volume (within the backup application, this is generally referred to as a "Library").
Now, if the server were to become infected with ransomware, the backup data would be encrypted, and restores would no longer be possible.
Using Controlled Folder Access would…

windows 10 disk manager- extend volume does not appear
my local disk E of 450 MB with a system reserved of 16.1 MB and another area called Other of 399 MB ( not folders ) only 34 MB of free space, disk nearly full message all the time.
disk manager extend volume does not appear, or I can't find it.
I assume that increasing the size ( volume ) of disk E will resolve the problem. Could the area called Other be investigated in some way or be deleted of unknown things are in it ?? I'm not IT literate.1 vote -
Bug Report: Powershell add-ipamaddress cmdlet does not commit to DHCP or DNS
The powershell add-ipamaddress cmdlet takes a number of parameters related to dhcp/dns, such as dhcp server, dns zones, etc... but does not sync this information to dhcp or dns.
The cmdlet is mostly useless without the ability to register this info automatically.

Lower the priority of "automatic maintenance" (tiworker.exe)
Every now and then after a server restart, tiworker.exe jumps to 100% CPU usage for a long time, effectively DOS-ing single-processor servers.
Google (or bing) for
"automatic maintenance" tiworker.exe
for lots of reports on this issue, including blog posts of people recommending to disable this task.My suggestion would be to lower that task's priority by default ("below normal" works well based on my tests): 30 minutes of background maintenance and a responsive server is much better than 15 minutes of background maintenance and a server which is practically unusable during that time.

Not able to add Notes / annotation on Hyper-V VM
Hello,
Is there any way possible to add Annotations on Newly created Hyper-V VM (either using Failover Cluster Manager OR Hyper-V Manager).
Annotations are the details which would be helpful to know the exact reason of creation of the Hyper-V VM.
Regards,

Allow Virtual Desktops To Have Its Own Shortcuts
In Windows Server 2019, I love the idea of being abke to easily switch your desktop with one mouse click. Better Than the Button in Windows Server 2016 and 10. But What would be nice, is if in that Menu, you could make and empty Desktop and Add your own icons to it yourself. As Well as be able to move icons between desktops.

certmgr improvements (UX, etc) for finding certificates
Adjust columns as desired, by default have thumbprint viewable. Group by issuer would also be really great. A menu item to find a specific certificate by thumbprint, or all issued by that thumbprint.

Remove Cortana/Defender/XBox/UAC and the others bloatware
Please don't tell me about core version or nano!
We need a light weight GUI to speed up the settings and keep monitored the logs and other things. Please move all these stuff to "Add roles and Features"
Do you remember windows NT?
We don't need the heavyweight of all bloated stuff of windows 10.
This is a server.
Thank you
