  1. Disable Network Interface Card Confirmation Dialog

I had a funny scenario where, in the middle of a presentation, while connected remotely to a server, I disabled the interface card and lost connection to my server.
That happened while I was demonstrating the network card configuration -(LOL).

What about creating a confirmation popup before disabling the network card via RDP? :)

    Vote for a better Windows!

  2. The AD FS upgrade scenario from 2012 R2 to 2016 with a SQL database is missing 2019 info

The following link contains the steps to upgrade an AD FS farm from 2012 R2 to 2016 when a SQL server is involved. It does not mention 2019.
Is it possible to add it? The process is similar the only difference is the FBL.
The link to the article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/identity/ad-fs/deployment/upgrading-to-ad-fs-in-windows-server-sql

  3. Begin by properly documenting the basic keyboard shortcuts Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V, Ctrl-X. This also applies to WaaS. Then hire writers.

Microsoft lawyers claim that Microsoft comes with "help" also known as "documentation." When one examines the claimed documentation one finds the usual finely crafted, artistic web pages that contain minimal information for the technical, non-employees who want a deep dive into how to operate Windows (various attempted releases). It is clear why Microsoft keeps this sort of thing close to the vest. Were it to become clear that there really isn't any documentation and no operating instructions then sales would stay exactly where they are. Nobody cares. Especially among the don't care group are top executives at Microsoft. And the…

  4. Stop the "Windows update madness" on WS2016!

Dear Microsoft Windows Server team. We would like complete control over when we would like our our WS2016 to install windows updates! No more slow / timeconsuming server restarts because of "Getting Windows ready. Do not turn off your computer" messages when we just would like a quick restart of a production server.. No more TiWorker.exe using 100% of a CPU core during "*********" and so on.. And please fix the issues with '2017-08 Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4035631)' asap. Thank you.

  5. Do not remove Essentials Role in Server 2019

We still need a Windows Version for small customers getting easy connection to Azure and Office 365. So do NOT remove the Essential Role out of Version 2019.

  6. We need to possibility to decline updates for spesific computer groups just as well as approving updates for groups

If you have several types of clients updated by a wsus server, the software vendor for some of the clints might have found some updates to cause problems for their software so that the specific updates should be possible to decline for specific computer groups while still being available for other groups. I really do not understand why there is no such possibility in wsus.. As it is now, "not approved updates" could mean two things. Either you specifically do not want to install the update or you have just not decided over the update yet, it really should be…

  10. See to who a GPO (and a new Version of it) is applied from Group Policy Management Console

It would be great if it could be displayed directly in the console to which users and computers a new or changed policy could already be applied.

  11. Fix Windows Server 2019 Active Directory Domain Controller and Environment Bugs

It would appears I'm not the only one experiencing the issue, I did a fresh install promote it to a Windows Server 2016 Forest and Domain AD. After the reboot I realize the Start Menu settings cannot be changed, next I found that whole load of permission error whenever I try to launch anything that requires Administrator privilege including Server Manager, Settings and Control Panel. After that I went to check the permission settings of the C drive and Windows folder as compared to previous version of Windows Server, "Authenticated Users" is no longer part of the default permissions. This…

  13. iPadOS连接上远程桌面后不能输入简体中文

    iPados13.1.1和13.1.2都存在这样的问题。远程桌面连接后使用系统自带的简体中文输入法不能输入中文,只能输入英文。但是用第三方搜狗输入法可以输入中文。

  14. SeShutdownPrivelege, SeUndockPrivelege, and SeTimeZonePrivelege not added to Administrators Group... only for Built-in Admin

SeShutdownPrivelege, SeUndockPrivelege, and SeTimeZonePrivelege are not added to Administrators Group... only for Built-in Admin. This makes it so setting the timezone via the timedate.cpl in Server Core impossible if logged in as Domain Admin. This also makes ExitWindowsEx function in MSVC unusable on 2019.

Previously, these worked on 2016. A workaround is to add the user (or users group) account via the Security Policy for User Rights Assessment in gpedit.msc.

  15. Serve ADFS metadata url with a more appropriate Cache-Control directive

The ADFS metadata url for SAML and Ws-Federation is served with Cache-Control: no-cache which can cause a compliant SAML client to spin. I currently ignore this bad cache directive and impute a computed value from the embedded X509 certificates, which isn't a good choice but better than spinning. A suitable Cache-Control: max age should be provided, probably measured in hours.

  16. Allow FSRM passive screens on drive with SYSVOL share, that don't break GPO

Now when I install FSRM and passive screen my C: drive which has SYSVOL, it breaks GPO Managment. You cannot edit a GPO or create a new GPO.
Please improve server 2019 by not making this a feature of installing FSRM.
Make it work like it did for server 2016 and below.

  17. Windows Server 2016 allows a maximum of 12 active hours. This needs to be increased.

active hours on the update screen can be a maximum of 12 hours. this needs to be extended to 23 hours. Many servers are actively used for more than 12 hours by users from multiple shifts and reboots should not take place while users are accessing files on the server.

  18. integrate professionally sharepoint search connection native in Windows Explorer and make it the preferred choice in its search applet

Windows search has to be deprecated.
    - It is not cluster-aware.
    - You cannot automate the rollout and
    - Cannot orchestrate a bunch of nodes with the same configuration and
    - last but not least you only have the choice between pest or cholera if you want to use an abstract namespace with all the advantages for background migrations by using the distrubuted file system (dfs), cause windows search is still incompatible with dfs - and never was it!

    Sharepoint does it!

But sharepoint is still not integrated in windows explorer. You only have the possibility to import an „osdx-File“…

  19. Improve Troubleshooting Help for WRDC

I am having a lot of trouble connecting to Windows Remote Desktop. I have allowed access to Port 3389 on both my router and firewall and have used the Desktop name and gateway settings specified in Network Settings -> * -> WiFi -> Network connection details but am still seeing error code 0x3000060. Any help greatly appreciated.

  20. Windows 2016 - Scheduled Task Access for non-admin Domain users

In Windows server 2016 we are unable to provide access on scheduled tasks for non-admin domain users. This is doable in windows 2012 by adding the permissions to C:\Windows\System32\Tasks folder but it is not working in windows 2016.

    Is this a know issue/bug with windows 2016 ?

    Thank You In Advance
