  4. Bug in Android RD 8.1.71.387 using danish keyboard.

Not sure why I was guided to windows server, the problem is with the Android RD client.
In a danish environment, the bottom left key is supposed to be - (minus) and the shifted value _ (underscore), This is the key immediately to the left of the right shift key.
Using the Android RD client on a Acer Chromebook with danish keyboard towards a Windows 10 VDI the keys come out as + (plus) and the shifted value ? (questionmark).
Connecting to the same VDI with RD from a Windows PC renders the correct keys, and using the chromebook in…

  5. Server 2019 - ALT-F4 - bring back the shutdown/logoff dialog box

Historically, ALT-F4 will close out your windows...and if you were at the desktop, it would nicely bring up a dialog box asking if you'd like to sign-out or shutdown/reboot, etc. That is gone it seems...except for the built-in administrator. This leads to accidental logouts and closing of sessions that may have been active, etc. From what I've seen, MS has stated this is "by design" and needs to go to the forum to restore sanity. Seems odd it exists for one type of account and not able to be enabled for others. Regardless....bring back the logoff/shutdown dialog box please, or…

  7. netsh trace and/or NetEventPacketCapture needs better packet filtering.

"netsh trace" and/or NetEventPacketCapture lacks capable packet filtering. A lot of secure and change managed environments do not [easily] allow the installation of packet capture tools for collecting network data, like Wireshark (or the now defunct netmon and Message Analyzer).

The two built-in packet capture tools in Windows, "netsh trace" and NetEventPacketCapture, can only filter packets by IP address, MAC, and protocol. This makes collecting a targeted trace, sometimes needed when collecting traces on sensitive networks, impossible.

This is a request to add, at a minimum, the ability to filter packets by TCP port and UDP endpoint. Ideally, Windows inbox…

  9. Server 2016 jumping ahead of time

I have found a wired thing, I got a file server that has shadow copies configured for one of its drives and it seems that server jumps ahead of time at some point and creates shadow copies for future. Not sure if it happens because of a bug. I've fully updated the server and reported the issue here as one of TechNet guy suggested. please reachout for more details. janindu@live.com Thanks

  11. Offline files

On Windows 10, Office 2016/2019 can not open offline files from redirected folders when internet connection is not available. If internet connection is available (even public one), there is no problem. Other file types (pdf, jpg) have no issues. The server that stores the redirected folders is not accessible through internet, only on local network. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

  12. In Task Manager | Details Screen add column for PID Start Time

In Task Manager | Details Screen add column for PID Start Time. How many times during trouble shooting do you ask the question "How long has this PID/Task been running?". Sure you can go get Pro0cess Manager and install it. You can search Event Logs. You can do a lot of things. But wouldn't the easiest be look in Task Manager and just select a column that says "Start Time"?

  13. gpo shortcut only desktop

GPO - Create a new GPO allowing only shortcuts on desktop.

Users create a lot of files and we lost a lot of data when a hard drive is crashing. The biggest desktop size I found is 16 gig. It's not a desktop anymore, it's a data server ;)

  14. Allow for easy creation of base64 certificates with separate cert and key files

I would like to use and continue to use the investment into AD CS. Currently using AD CS for non windows devices is painful due to the nature of requesting certs and getting them in formats useful for non windows devices. Maybe a modernized AD CS web enrollment site would help achieve this.

  17. Is this a Permission-Bug in Windows Firewall Logging?

    #Windows Firewall Log BUG

    Situation:
New Installed Server With 2016 Standard. Patched and up2date with June-2019 CU.
Created a new Domain with itself beeing the first domaincontroler. Created a GPO to activate Windows Firewall and enable Logging of DROP and ALLOW to pfirewall-domain.log in the default-path.

    What happens?
The Log can´t be written, no access denied. Sysinternals Procmon shows no "Access Denied". Shows a few creates but does not write.

  20. Implement force flush cache on Storage Spaces Direct

When replacing multiple cache Devices in a Storage Spaces Direct implementation it would be really useful to be able to force flush / destage cache data to capacity disks. As per now one would have to retire, remove, reset, reseat, rinse and repeat for each disk needed to be replaced.
