Add Itanium Support to Windows Server 2016
Intel Itanium can emulate x64 but they are not officially supported in Windows Server 2016. Windows Server 2016 should be one edition and download should say for "64-bit systems" and that should be compatible with x86_64, Itanium, and 64-bit ARM.

It's also worth noting that MS Itanium support ended 7 years ago, and that Intel shipped its last new Itanium processor 4 years ago. The product itself from Intel appears to be end of life.

Support for systems comes from the hardware vendor, not from Microsoft. Each hardware vendor runs validation processes against every system they want to support. If you want an Itanium system to be supported, you need to talk with the vendor of the Itanium system and have them run the validation processes. Once that has passed, they can place their system on the list of supported servers at www.windowsservercatalog.com.
