2004 means 20-04....as in 2020-04...as in April 2020.
That's an update rollup that was released in April 2020.
Last year they where named 1903 and 1909.
And in 2018 it was 1803 and 1809.

The "2004" is a version of the Windows Server release that is part of the Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) release, it is aligned with Windows 10, as of writing this, the current latest version being "Windows 10, version 2004", or Windows Server, version 2004.
The Semi-Annual Channel releases are being released more frequently, and are intended for customers who innovate quickly and want to take the advantages of new operating system capabilities.
Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2019 as we are mostly familiar with are part of the Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) release, which is a major release which comes out every 2-3 years.
For more information, I suggest you read here:
The version "2004" was actually meant to be "2003", but this would confuse people even more as there already exists Windows Server 2003, so they chose to use "2004" instead.
