1. Hyper-V management service stops listening

Under 2019, the Hyper-V management service stops listening (Server was upgraded from 2016). Shutting down the service hangs.

Hyper-V was stable under 2016.

5. unable to change WINS Server IP Binding in Windows Server 2016.

Unable to change WINS Server, IP Binding in Windows Server 2016. In the MMC of WINS Server, you can see an IP Address which suggests that the WINS Service is only listing on this Network Adapter. Even you change the Network Adapter metric, the IP will be not changed in the WINS MMC Gui. It's only changing, if you disable the used interface. With a netstate you can see that the WINS Service is listening on all Interfaces. This is confusing

6. Hyper V bug with saving before restore

When restoring another state (and discarding the current state) the machine "Saves" the current memory to the disk first, and then discards what it saved.

This started with Server 2016.

To reproduce the issue restore a previous machine state and discard the current state ... "saving" will come up before it restores the selected state.

This is silly and adds quite a lot of overhead (when dealing with ~200GB in memory), to the point that it is quicker for me to turn off the machine first, restore the state, then start the VM.

Hello, after applying the below listed patches this past Sunday on Windows Server 2016 dedicated to File / Print services, searching for files on Windows Server 2016 results in the search that appears to be searching but unable to display properly.

If possible I'll send a picture comparing Windows Explorer search results from both Win10 & Win7 (both systems are up to date with latest patches, though the same view from Win 10 happens on Win 2016), a description of what I'm seeing can be described as follows:

Win 10 / 2016; you see the file name only, the rest…

8. Bug Report: Powershell add-ipamaddress cmdlet does not commit to DHCP or DNS

The powershell add-ipamaddress cmdlet takes a number of parameters related to dhcp/dns, such as dhcp server, dns zones, etc... but does not sync this information to dhcp or dns.

The cmdlet is mostly useless without the ability to register this info automatically.

9. In Event Viewer the link by More Information: Event Log Online Help points to a non existing page:

The link is https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee958049.aspx which is a 404.

Please update Event Viewer to remove the link to Event Log Online Help or create the page proper.

10. WSUS on Win2012: Fix issue that causes Windows Server 2016 clients OS to be listed as "Windows (Version 10)"

When using WSUS on Windows 2012 (WSUS 4.x), the WSUS console incorrectly lists Windows Server 2016 clients with Operating System "Windows (Version 10)". This is confusing to customers, and causes them concerns related to reporting, as well as the ability to update Win2016 clients with WSUS on Windows 2012.

This issue does not occur with WSUS on Windows 2016, where Windows Server 2016 clients are listed with Operating System as "Windows Server 2016 <edition>".

11. Bug : Task Scheduler Repeat Calendar Trigger

Scheduled tasks on Windows Server 2016, with a Repeat Calendar Trigger, do not appear to start after restarting the server.
The date of departure being exceeded there is no more triggering. The date of the next trigger is correct but nothing happens.
The manual trigger works correctly.
To reactivate trigger it is necessary to set a later date on the current date.

12. Scheduled Tasks do not store domain information of runas account

If you create a scheduled task in Server 2016, the domain information of the user is not saved or stored.
Getting the principal with powershell or exporting the task as xml does not show the domain information either.

13. Windows server 2016 has the wrong version number when retrieving it by SNMP OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0

Retrieving the server version by SNMP returns the wrong version number for Windows 2016 Server. I'm getting "6.3" instead of the expected "10.0". Using SNMP OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 to retrieve the version.

Please fix

15. Group Policy Autoplay doesn't work with Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10

First of all, sorry my poor English. Recently my customer bought two Windows Server 2016 Standard and I have a general group policy to disable autoplay and autorun in all computers in this network. Of course, I have an Active Directory implemented with two DCs, one with W2K8R2 and another with W2K12R2. I´ve downloaded the new ADMX files for Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 "www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53430" and created a Central Store and I made all steps recomended by Microsoft. This Group Policy works well in all versions of Windows 2012/8.1 and below, but doesn´t work in Windows version…

16. Storage Replica Partnership is un-removable

I tried to implement Storage Replica (Server-to-Server), Once It sets up the partnership, I could not remove the partnership to bring live the destination drive. The error message says that "There is no Partnership between both servers" but I confirm it has with get-srpartnership cmdlet.

Destination drive is totally unmountable even via Diskpart.

17. Bug: Task Scheduler CalendarTrigger Repetition not working in Server 2016TP5

Scheduled tasks on the current TP5 of Windows Server 2016, which have a CalendarTrigger with repetition configured, don't seem to trigger and cannot be started manually.
The same trigger without repetition (e.g. after unchecking the "Repeat task every:" checkbox in taskschd.msc) works correctly.
A TimeTrigger with the same repetition configuration works, too.
taskschd.msc calculates and displays the next runtime correctly.

When I try to start such a task manually in taskschd.msc, a message box appears (running any other task works):
de-DE: "Der Aufgabenplanungsdienst ist nicht verfügbar. Die Aufgabenplanung wird erneut versuchen, eine Verbindung herzustellen."
en-US: "Task Scheduler service is not…

18. MSTSC Should Be More Forthcoming With Diagnostics; Beyond "An Internal Error Occurred"

I manage a PC that runs Broadcast Software International's Simian application in production 24/7 for a radio station. It is royally impossible to manage the PC via mstsc which reports "An Internal Error Occurred." There is a VPN involved provided by WatchGuard's appliance. The VPN is NOT the problem. Remote Desktop works for the brother PC that also runs Windows 7 with University of Kansas's Telephone Reader application in production 24/7. My hypothesis is that the broadcast-quality sound card is being accessed, with catastrophic results, by the server part of RDP in Windows 7 even in the case where I…

20. Task Manager and Admin Centre cannot see CPU usage

I have HPE Proliant MicroServer Gen8 and installed Windows Server 2019. After I set non-unicode language to Chinese(Simp), I cannot see CPU usage anymore in task manager, resource monitor, and Admin Centre. Even I revert it back to English(US), it still would not help.
