  1. New integrated UI for Hyper-V

It's one of the most important area where you must working on. We need a new UI for Hyper-V, in particular a new UI with cluster management integrated and also with more functionality, like Performance View and PowerShell history.

  2. Hot-add vCPU for VMs

Sometime we need to scale up VMs and want to avoid downtime in the process. Example: SQL Server VMWare has been able to do that for quite some time and is something we miss since we have migrated to Hyper-V.

  3. USB Passthrough Support

Give us the feature VBox provides us already. Like: Plug a USB Dongle in the Host Server and then passthrough to the VM Server where the application is waiting desperately for it. Right now we need special hardware for that which provides access by LAN and special software.

  4. Change settings for running VMs that will be applied upon next VM boot

Sometimes I want to change the defaults for a running VM (boot order, less/more Startup RAM, ...). Right now I can only change these settings when a VM is turned off. I should be able to change the boot order of a running VM, even though the changed settings will only take effect during a future reboot.

  5. Make HyperV Manager show IOPS.

It would be great if HyperV manager showed IOPs. Right now when we have a noisy host, it is really difficult for us to figure out who it is. We have to pull of System Center and that is always delayed.

  6. VMQ auto Tuning (aligning with CPU cores..)

Auto tuning for VMQ and assigning different processors for multiple NICs, aligning NUMA ... Currently multiple NICs are using same processors (0,2,4,6). It would be great if it would be configured to automatically move from CPU 0 and spread across.

  7. Hyper-V 2019 - Guest VMs shutdown unexpectedly

When the host server shuts down, a bug in which guest VMs are not automatically shut down occurs in Windows 10 1809 or Windows Server 2019.
It is also a topic in the forum.
Please solve this bug as soon as possible.

  8. Enable PowerShell Direct for Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2

PowerShell direct is fantastic feature. We would like to use it with down level guest OS as well (Win 8.1 / WS12R2).

The customers usually upgrade the host more frequently than upgrading the VM which is running the core business App.

    Thanks!

  9. Delete in Hyper-V console - select from delete/delete configuration/keep all, just remove from manager

Delete in Hyper-V console should offer several options - delete all/delete just configuration/just remove from manager and keep everything

  10. Overall better performance/utilization views on the HYPER-V UI

Like VEEAM TaskManager for all VM guests (selectable)
    include IOPS on Storage,
    LAN Bandwidth utilization
    CPU and RAM utilization

    with history diagrams

  11. Syncronize VM configuration changes when Hyper-V Replica is Enabled

Add an option to syncronize (or not) configuration changes (CPU, Memory, Disk, NIC, etc) from primary VM to replica VM, when Hyper-V Replica is enabled.

  12. Provide support for USB like a disk in Hyper-v

It is I think one of the most awaited feature. We should be able to create virtual USBs and attach them to VMs. also, we should have an option to present USB as a pass through USB.

  13. Hyper-V Replica using IP Address instead of NETBIOS/FQDN

Is there any chance to have Hyper-V Replica to work over IP address instead of NETBIOS/FQDN?
Without messing with DNS / hosts file (%windir%\system32\drivers\etc).
Scenario: Sending replica traffic over dedicated network.
Network Constraint (control which networks HR runs upon, based on network interface).
    Thanks!

  14. Remove paging files from Windows guests or add "No Paging File" mode

Paging files on guests seem outdated when you have hosts with huge memory pools and dynamic memory allocation. The main problem is that paging file activity deltas generate an inordinate amount of replication traffic. Many experts recommend moving paging files to a separate VHDX and excluding that disk from replication, but that can cause failover issues. Please reevaluate whether a "No Paging File" mode could be added to Windows. Tags: pagefile, page file, paging file, swap file.

  16. USB 2.0 & 3.0 Passthru for Hyper-V (Windows Server 2016)

Currently, if I want to plug any USB 2.0 or 3.0 device into my Hyper-V host and use it through my VM it will not work.

    Make it so number one...

  17. Folder organisation in Failover Cluster Manager and Hyper V. As seen in VM Ware.

I would like to see the ability so that we can create folders insdie of Failover Cluster Manger, or Hyper V. This will help to enable us to organise our VMs accorinding to specific roles. We have around 300 VMs, and it's extremely difficult to differentiate between them all.

VM Workstation has this feature, and it makes admiinistration so much easier. I think the ability to create named folders to hold your VMs is well overdue.

  18. Hyper-V live migrate to replica

I really do appreciate the live migration of VMs, so that I can seamlessly maintain hosts. I also cherish the async replication between hosts for disaster recovery. What I do miss is the option to live migrate, using the already replicated storage, to the target host. This would save enormous amount of resources.

  20. Folders in Hyper-V Manager

I would love beeing able to create folders in Hyper-V manager, so that I can view my "Test Environment", my "VMs for Customer" or my "Show Direct Access" virtual maschines. I the moment I can only user appropriate names for my VMs.
