  1. Hyper-V configuration version 8.2 and 8.3 are still undocumented

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/deploy/upgrade-virtual-machine-version-in-hyper-v-on-windows-or-windows-server

in your official documentation the configuration version 8.3 and 8.2 are still missing in the compatibility matrix aswell as the projected feature changes.

    8.2 was introduced with 1709
8.3 is going to be introced in 1804.

Kindly ask to fix this. Don't want to make a github account just for this case.

    • Add support for shared folders between VM and Host like in virtualbox

Access host folders from guest and vice versa withount sharing them on the network, so there is less attack surface.

      • Virtual IPMI device for Nested Hypervisors

Now that we have the ability to nest hyper-v, a virtual IPMI device would be pretty nice to teach VMM bare metal deployment.

        • All VM network cards have the same Friendly Name "Network Adapter"

Same as you do with IDE controller 0, 1,2 and other devices.

Network Adapters should have different Names like

          Network Adapter 0
          Network Adapter 1
          etc..

          • Remove paging files from Windows guests or add "No Paging File" mode

Paging files on guests seem outdated when you have hosts with huge memory pools and dynamic memory allocation. The main problem is that paging file activity deltas generate an inordinate amount of replication traffic. Many experts recommend moving paging files to a separate VHDX and excluding that disk from replication, but that can cause failover issues. Please reevaluate whether a "No Paging File" mode could be added to Windows. Tags: pagefile, page file, paging file, swap file.

            • Hot-add vCPU for VMs

Sometime we need to scale up VMs and want to avoid downtime in the process. Example: SQL Server VMWare has been able to do that for quite some time and is something we miss since we have migrated to Hyper-V.

              • Change settings for running VMs that will be applied upon next VM boot

Sometimes I want to change the defaults for a running VM (boot order, less/more Startup RAM, ...). Right now I can only change these settings when a VM is turned off. I should be able to change the boot order of a running VM, even though the changed settings will only take effect during a future reboot.
