  2. Delegate VM Managers

I love you MS, but it's rediculous that i can't delegate hypervisor access (console, vm settings, etc) to the person responsible for that VM. AFAIK every major hypervisor natively allows this but yours.

  3. Graphics adapter resolution

We could not see an option to increase resolution on unsupported OS like Linux. So we are stuck with something like 1152x1024 and not 1920x1080 as it should be. This is year 2019 and there should be appropriate resolution options for actual displays.

  4. Add default behaviour to connection bar

Whenever connected to a guest, the connection bar is pinned on the top and needs to be unpinned manually. This is very much annoying.
This needs to be changed to add a default option to have the connection bar unpinned initially.

  5. Volume 100% on reconnect always

Using vmconnect.ext to connect to guest. Volume in guest is always preset to 100% which is exremely annoying. Volume should have a custom preset or same like host.

  6. Full screen on dual monitor does not restore correctly

On Windows Server 2019 we have exactly this issue: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c95e831d-36ae-4307-b3fd-a9daac6b5790/full-screen-on-dual-monitor-does-not-restore-correctly?forum=win10itprovirt

Solution in this thread was mentioned to change the WDDM settings in gpedit. This does not fix it in our case. Neither on Windows 10 and not on Windows 8.1 guests as there is no such setting in gpedit in Windows 8.1.
We are using vmconnect.exe to connect toguest with 2 monitors. Both monitors are enabled in enhanced session. Minimizing leads to the issue that monitors are only restored on one monitor not on both. Additionally restoration has errors as scrollbars are being displayed and clicking on icons does not…

  7. Host custom DPI scaling breaks Modern UI in guests

We are running Windows Server 2019 with Windows 8.1 guest.
Custom scaling on host ist set to 130% which is perfect setting for our eyes to work on computer screen all day.
According to this blog post https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/virtualpcguy/2016/06/23/hyper-v-ui-updates-for-high-dpi/ in enhanced session the guest gets all dpi information from the host.
This needs to be fixed so we can revert to custom scaling again.
However the modern ui does not scale correctly. Start screen, charms bar and settings pages are way too big. Apps cannot be started, error message is "This app can’t open. The screen resolution is too…

  8. PIN and virtual smart card logon for Enhanced Session Mode (ESM)

PIN and virtual smart card logon for Enhanced Session Mode (ESM) in vmconnect.exe. This would be a benefit in PAW/SAW scenarios, as well as local dev, to facilitate logons to local HyperV guests.

  10. It would be nice if in Linux unused but committed memory would not count to Windows used memory

It would be nice if this memory was counted in the host as committed but unused memory ('Available' in Task Manager).

Currently hvballoon tells Windows it requires all the CommittedAS memory. Which is fine to do, but in Windows Task Manager this unused memory (not used by Linux) is then shown as 'In Use' memory.

I'm unsure if this unused but committed memory will push out cache and applications on the host side. So it might be purely cosmetic, but it would be good to check in the Windows kernel's Hyper-V parts. Or maybe put this empty memory…

  11. Nested Virtualization Support for AMD CPUs

Currently nested virtualization is only supported on Intel CPUs. Please add support on AMD CPUs. At the very least Epyc CPUs, but older Opteron CPU support would be nice as well.

  12. Support for Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter

Allow a Virtual Switch to connect to the Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter. Other virtualization products allow this; Hyper-V doesn't. This is a severe limitation.

  13. Allow automatic stop action setting to be changed/applied while a VM is running

The ability to change the stop action of VM without having to power it off.
Or at least allow it to be prestaged for it to do it on a VM reboot

  14. VMconnect full screen does not display connection bar when DPI higher than 100% on v1607 14393

VMconnect full screen does not display connection bar when DPI higher than 100% on v1607 14393(issue exists with both the server and the client's VMconnection). Only non-enhanced session affected, enhanced session mode is not affected.

It's really inconvenient to use a virtual machine on a full screen at a DPI higher than 100%.

Even with the latest updates installed (as of April 2019), the problem persists

I hope this issue can be fixed in time, at least for now v1607 14393 Server and Client LTSB versions are still in the mainstream support.

How to repo on v1607 14393:

    1. Set DPI…

  16. Set VHD(X) storage as persistent (immune to Revert)

There currently is no way to add a VHD(X) to a virtual machine so that changes will not roll back after a Revert. One could use a network drive as a workaround, but this is not always feasible. Therefore, an option on a per-disk basis would be desirable.

  17. Show Topology for host,VM , networking , storage(suchas CSV, SOFS share, local vol) relationship

Please provide a topology tool in mmc or web(WAC), for show the relationship on following view:
1 how host connect networking and storage
This is a great help for many scenario: troubleshooting underlayer problem , tuning performance, even help of planning available or capacity expand.
2 how VMs connect virtual network and data space
This is a great help for many scenario: troubleshooting VM-level problem, hardware maintenance planning etc.
3 how VMs placed to hosts
scenario: VM resource placement optimizing, VM role high available planning or capability expand planning, host maintenance planning.
4 How hosts form cluster and even cluster…

  18. Customizable tags on vm in Hyper-V Manager , Failover-Cluster Manager and windows admin center

Provide a way to allow custom Tags on VMs in Hyper-V Manager or Failover-Cluster Manager, and display or group with it.
Scenario: VM lifecycle infomation, application identification, "owner" identification, deligation to subadmin.etc

  19. Hyper-V: Allow Replication also if one of the disks are physical

Actually i can't enable replication if one disk is a physical disk, also if i don't plan to enable replication for the physical disk. I would prefer to enable replication without this physical disk, but for the other virtual disks.
It seem to be only an block in the Hyper-V Manager, so it would be great to move this check for blocking the replication after the user was able to select the disk to be replicated.
Only if here the physical disk is still enabled, block the replication with the corresponding error message:
    "Replication can't be activated. Replication can't activated…

  20. copy and paste

should allow copy and paste between linux VM and host
the enhanced session thing is not easy to get right and breaks easily plus it seems a heavy weight way to get this to work
