Storage Spaces Direct Stretch Cluster support
It would be extremely advantageous for S2D to support Stretch Clusters. Maybe implement it by allowing the creation of multiple, site aware storage pools (by leveraging the new failure domain features).
Combining this with Storage replica would enable multi-site, highly available VM's without the need for any shared storage what so ever.

Really hoping to see this functionality in the upcoming Windows Server 2019 RTM release!
Ned, is there any update on adding Stretch cluster support to S2D environments? I was hoping to roll this out in January.

Hi, any news regarding S2D stretch cluster support? Running storage replica between two S2D clusters right now (located in two different server rooms approx 100 meters apart), with dedicated 4x100Gbe links and all between the rooms. Latency etc should not be a problem in this case.
I'm confused. You mean that what Microsoft show here is actually not supported ??
They mention S2D, site affinity etc.....
We would really like to roll this out for our next virtual environment upgrade.

As a side note, what is the chance of seeing S2D & SR in the Server Standard SKU? Would be a really nice option for SMB or Remote Office/Branch Office use.
