WRITE BACK OPTION FOR HYPER-V
Hi Hyper-V Friends,
The following important fact will probably only be known to very few admins today.
In all previously published and also the current Hyper-V versions, all write operations that are processed by the Hyper-V storage stack are always passed on to the underlying storage subsystem as WRITE-THROUGH.The bottom line is that, every Hyper-V forces the underlying storage subsystem to completely bypass the write cache built into the RAID controller or the SAN. Even then, if the Wirite Cache is activated in the controller policy and is also requested via the application. This active bypassing of the write…

Restore Windows Server Backup to Share
WIndows Server Backup doesn't allow backups to restore to network share or mapped drive even for file /folder restore. Because of that you can't easily restore virtual machines on backup servers (you must physically switch external drive to backup server in order to restore VMs).

Allow SMB over SSH
Allow SMB to be tunneled through an SSH connection. This would allow older clients to connect encrypted to an SMB share

I want to expand the C disk volume that space of another drive volume.
And I heard that it's possible to expand C disk volume using third party solution.

Storage Replica Cluster to Cluster support with Automatic VM Orchastrated Fail-over
To provide the Ultimate Disaster Recovery solution across separate clusters for Active/Active scenarios (same HW) or Active Passive scenarios (different HW), Providing a One to Many placement via Synchronous/Asynchronous Replication, providing RPO/RTO of choice, and to automatically Orchestrate failover of VM's to destination of choice with the RTO of choice, to patch and complete lifecycle management on each cluster without impact to overall service.
Why is Cluster to Cluster DR solution important, A Stretch Cluster can still suffer issues at the Hyper-V level and impact the whole cluster, the same for life cycle management and patching, requires the same hardware…

Implement BTRFS Support For Disks and Partitions
To increase interoperability with Linux and to give more options for administrators Microsoft should include a fully-featured BTRFS implementation in Windows Server. This should include all the RAID modes for when creating a BTRFS RAID, Single, Raid1, Raid10, Raid5, and Raid6 (yes I know BTRFS is broken with Raid5 and Raid6, perhaps Microsoft could work with the resolve the issue). We should be able to also format any disk partition with a BTRFS volume. Snapshot creation should integrate with VSS and snapshots should appear in the "Previous versions" tab. Bitlocker should be able to be used with BTRFS as well.…

Improve visual feedback during sync
When a user has almost 300 000 files in its Work Folder it seems that the control panel applet does not update as it should. The general feeling is that the computer is busy with going through the filelist rather than informing the user about what its busy doing. This leads to frustration from the enduser and an incertainty about the current syncstate.
We are currently using Windows 10 1803 Edu 64-bit on our clients, is this better in newer versions?

Thumbnail preview in Explorer for workfolders
Since Windows 10 1803 there is no image preview in Explorer. However, some people need this feature for their work. I find it particularly annoying that this will not work even if "On Demand File Access" is disabled.

Option to change disks from clustered storage subsystem to local storage subsystem.
Have configured standalone SQL servers with AlwaysOn Availability groups configured for HA. Now when adding two local disks to each server the disks are linked to the clustered storage subsystem not the local one which means I am unable to create a storage pool in Server manager as it states that a minimum if 3 are required to create a cluster storage pool. However I only want to create a local one - not a clustered pool.
Can you please provide a way to either disable the clustered storage subsystem (not need in this config as only a standalone SQL…

Storage Migration Service Support for Samba, NAS, SAN destination
Support for Samba, NAS, SAN DESTINATION! Can't believe this is not one of THE biggest feature requests. We have so many times where we may be, wait for it... migrating AWAY from Windows Servers onto NAS devices. We still use and migrate to Windows Server 2016 and 2019, but we also have need to do the same migrations TO destinations that are NAS devices.

Add "Select All Shares" and "Deselect All Shares" to Storage Migration Services
When selecting shares to transfer within Storage Migration Service's Transfer Data section, all shares are selected by default. We have 435 shares and would like to transfer just one.
