Provide VLAN extension - L2 over L3 tunneling
A feature (for Windows Server Gateway) that allows tunneling Layer 2 over Layer 3 so to easily extend existing VLANs across Layer 3. This would allow tenants to easily move workloads between clouds without re-IPing.

Thanks for your comment. I am a Program Manager on the Networking team and we have indeed considered this feature. We were considering this more with respect to an overlay virtual network (e.g. VXLAN). We could then host part of an IP (virtual) subnet in one cloud and another part of the same IP (virtual) subnet to be in another cloud. Would this meet your requirements or are you indeed wanting to extend:
2) VLAN-Virtual Network (VSID)
The primary use case is workload migration. Are there any other use cases?
Obviously, we would have to be intelligent about creating ARP proxies on either end of the tunnel and ensure BUM traffic isn't unnecessarily broadcast across the WAN links.
I have the same requirement from my customer.
