Add a new Group Policy Preference for Default Start Tile Layout
Today, we have the option of enforcing a Start Screen Tile Layout, for Windows 8 and 10, but no option to set a default Start Tile Layout for our users.
This leads to admins creating logon scripts to set this on first login, which is cludgey (and because it uses PowerShell, gives us a ~6 second delay for the script to be executed) and not very streamlined.
Most organizations want to provide a default starting experience, but allow their users to deviate and customize if desired. This is an opportunity.
Default taskbar/start layout can be set by exporting a customized layout, then copying that XML into the default user profile directory during the imaging process.
This a very important feature, which I can't wait for it to be implemented to a GPO, rather than current ways, which are more like workarounds than a proper solutions.
