  1. Add "Save" to GPOs

When I edit a GPO it should be open in read mode and I have to save the changes.

  2. Missing Turn off the upgrade to the latest version of Windows through Windows Update

Turn off the upgrade to the latest version of Windows through Windows Update is missing from the latest ADMX on Windows Server and Windows 10. This setting is only available as a hotfix for Win7 (KB3065987) and Win8.1 (KB3065988) which will overwrite the Win10 ADMX in the central store.

  4. Allow Server Manager to dynamically update a server group based on given criteria

I think Server Manager could be a lot more powerful if the server groups had the option to be dynamically updated by given criteria like a specific OU, naming convention, location, or other AD attribute. This way an admin can truely manage all of their servers without having to manually add each server they want to manage

  5. Remote Disk Management

I know it is very easy to manage and format disks etc very easy with PowerShell, but it would make sense of have it in the UI as well. Event if it would be just a read only view for the first version.

  6. Deleting outdated Configurations in GPO

Give me an option to delete old configurations like Folderredirection. If it is configured one time, you can't "unconfigure" that option.

  7. Update GPOs

    • Get rid of settings or references for old programs and operatings systems. For example GPO editor/Filter options still lists IE3 to 6.

    • Windows 2000 is already not supported als domain member in Server 2012, therefore GPO settings for it should be removed in Server 2016

    • Several Security Options items have warnings for changing settings that mattered over 10 years ago but no longer (e.g. require strong (Windows 2000 and later) session key)

    • Software Restriction Policies should be removed and any missing functionality added to the newer AppLocker

    • Some harmonisation by removing the old Win XP theme look under Preferences would…

  8. Connecting to A Hyper-v /SCVMM server manage also the VM's

When connecting to a Hyper-v server it would be nice that you also can manage the Hosted VM's on that. you can already true the Powershell command. but If you can do the basic stuff like the 5 manage options that there current. Or integration with SCVMM to kickoff a template/start/stop vm's but gui wise. you can do this now already with the powershell commands.

  9. If it exists as a GUI option in a Microsoft Product , make sure there's a GPO that can be applied to it

Any setting that a user (or admin) could effect through the GUI of Windows, Office etc. should have a corresponding entry in a Group Policy. Good example is the loss of easy control of zones with the move away from GPO settings in IE10/11 for the IEAK and the current lack of GPO for Edge browser.

  10. Connect As instead of Run As for RSAT

With having spit accounts and multiple domains/forests to managed, it would be better to be able to run the RSAT using a connect as option instead of having to use run as

  11. Let us manage multiple servers with Server Manager

Server Manager in 2012 is fairly limited if you want to add a role to a bunch of servers you have to do it one by one, considering this is just a PowerShell frontend it should be really easy to let us select more than one server and fire off the PowerShell command to them.

  12. Improve Server Manager so that new Roles/Features can be installed on multiple machines in paralell

Currently you have to install new Roles/Features in Server Manager Machine after Machine. This is against the idea that Server Manager provides Multi-Server Management.

Provide an option to install new Roles/Features to many Servers in one step.

  16. [Identity] Just in time administration

For a person who has a log in to the Windows Admin Center but has no permissions to manage servers by default, provide the role for 'just in time' access so that the person can request administrative access (either approved or automatically allowed, and be logged for auditing) for a period of time. At the end of the period the user no longer has administrative access to the server. This way users don't need to always be administrators of computers but only when they require access.

  17. [UI] Notice and Consent Banner

A consent banner will be in place to make prospective entrants aware that the website they are about to enter is a DoD web site and their activity is subject to monitoring.

DoDI 8500.01 requires the use of a standard Notice and Consent Banner and standard text to be included in user agreements.

The requirement for the banner is for websites with security and access controls.

  18. [Network] [New Functionality] Network Monitor

Add Network Monitoring capabilities within Windows Admin center that would display:
    - per process breakdown of network send/receive activity w/ PID
    - active TCP connections with local & remote port
    - remote connection address/resolve to dns
This would be incredibly useful on server core installations where resource monitor is not available.

  20. [BUG] Cluster Network Adapter Missing

In Windows Admin Center for HCI, whenever I reboot a cluster node, the remaining nodes will report a warning that says "The server 'servername' has missing network adapter(s) connected to cluster network 'Cluster Network 1'."

This warning will clear node by node during a reboot. But once I reboot again, the warning will come back until another complete cluster reboot.
