"Move Virtual Machine Storage" in Failover Cluster Manager UI needs enhancements for SMB3 / SoFS / Storage Space Direct
The "Move Virtual Machine Storage" capability in the Failover Cluster Manager UI is really useful, but it needs a few simple things to make it easier to manage storage and also to transfer between storage topologies:
1. Ability to create FOLDERS - not just shares
2. Ability to REFRESH the view so that the dialog does not need to be closed
3. Ability to view permissions of SMB3 shares
This also doesn't work correctly in VMM; live migrations of HA VMs cause the VM to go into a pause-critical state when using SOFS on S2D storage.
I've posted a separate issue here about this: https://windowsserver.uservoice.com/forums/295047-general-feedback/suggestions/36124354-scvmm-vmm-s2d-should-support-cross-cluster-mig
In addition to what John Brown mentions (which is relevant), being able to Move Virtual Machine Storage with PowerShell. Imagine moving VHDs to another LUN and having to specify every cluster-ressource manualle compared to just pointing to a destinationroot and let Hyper-V do the relative organizing of the virtual machine parts
