4. Online HELP no longer has any valid links.

Recently the new "docs"" site was implemented on MS. The old TechNet and MSDN PowerSHell help documentation is now buried and hard to access. The new help is no longer linked to any help for an CmdLet. We get "404" for all attempts.

Also the new doc style is very pretty but not very useful. Same for the new Net class browser. On both the documentation is incomplete and has many errors compared to the original documentation.

Please address this as using the documentation has become a nightmare. MS needs to go back to managing this directly and try and…

6. Help not updating for Whea module shipped with Windows Server 2016

When running Update-Help on Windows Server 2016, failure occurs against the Whea module.

14. Add a way to contact us on the contact us page

You've clearly deleted all the contacts on the Contact Us page to stop people contacting you to inform you how broken your applications and website are, fix it or just stop being cowards and delete the page or change it to "we have no interest in you contacting us"

16. Remove-Variable doesn not clearly indicate that the Name parameter is optional

Conflict in help document: Although the description states that the parameter (name) is optional, the parameter attribute table indicates that it is required. See below.

PS C:\windows\system32> Get-Help -Name Remove-Variable -Parameter Name

-Name <String[]>

Specifies the name of the variable to be removed. The parameter name ( Name ) is optional.

Required? true
Position? 0
Default value None
Accept pipeline input? True (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false

17. get-help output

In the output of get-help the examples are listed and there are no lines separating examples from the end of the previous description. This is very confusing and difficult to read.
Just an extra line between the end of the description of the example and the next example would make a huge difference.
eg:

Example 1: Apply configuration settings

PS C:\> Start-DscConfiguration -Path "C:\DSC\Configurations\"

This command applies the configuration settings from C:\DSC\Configurations\ to the every computer that has settings in that folder. The
command returns Job objects for each target node deployed to.

[put a break here] Example 2: Apply…

18. Get-Help Get-ChildItem -Online redirects to 404 page

On PowerShell 5.1, this links to http://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh847897(v=wps.630).aspx, which redirects to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/4.0/microsoft.powershell.core/providers/FileSystem-Provider/Get-ChildItem-for-Filesystem, which is a 404 page.

At least three issues with this:

1) The URL above is specific for PS 4.0, but I'm on 5.1
2) The resultant page is a 404 error. Changing the initial URL to http://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh847897.aspx redirects to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/5.1/microsoft.powershell.core/providers/FileSystem-Provider/Get-ChildItem-for-Filesystem, but,
3) If you change the URL from 4.0 to 1.0, 2.0, 5.0, or 5.1, you'll still get the 404 error. If you change that number to 3.0, you get redirected to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/microsoft.powershell.core/providers/filesystem-provider/get-childitem-for-filesystem?view=powershell-5.1&viewFallbackFrom=powershell-Microsoft.PowerShell.Core
4) There's two different kinds of Get-ChildItem online help: the "Get-ChildItem for…

19. Fix get-help for format-volume

under example 2 it says the following

This example performs a full format of the D volume using the FAT32 file system.
with the example code:
PS C:> Format-Volume -DriveLetter C -FileSystem FAT32 -FullFormat –Force
The example code formats the c drive but the explaination say it will format the d drive could you please make it consistent.

20. Dynamic Parameters and Positional parameters do not work as expected

Problem description and example: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45021674/how-do-you-specify-both-static-and-dynamic-positional-parameters-in-powershell

1) It is not clear that the position attribute is relative to other parameters of the same type, and that static parameters always come before dynamic parameters.
2) If you run get-help (full) on the function described in the link it will show the literal position assignment, not their position as PowerShell expects them (i.e. the static parameter is listed as position 3, when it is actually position 0)
3) Tabbing through the options list (using ISE or PowerShell) behaves according to the literal position assignment, not their position as PowerShell expects them (i.e. if…
