        I'm still seeing this on WMF 5.1. We have one ConfigurationStatus folder that has grown up to 25 GB.

        Just noticed configuring StatusRetentionTimeInDays does make a difference though, after setting up a scheduled task to manually remove the status files, DSC started to log a huge amount of 4346 events in the Desired State Configuration log with the message:

        The DSCConfigurationStatus mof file not found at C:\Windows\System32\Configuration\ConfigurationStatus\{SOME-GUID}-0.mof.

        After configuring StatusRetentionTimeInDays to 1 (we delete status files once a day) this behavior stopped. Seems like the LCM does keep track of the status files it has to delete...
