I do concur. TCPDump is an awesome and fast tool! Even MacOSX includes tcpdump. I find that installing MS Message ANALyzer is not without its pesky problems (read the release notes...). MS ANALyzer is just an additional layer of bloatware/spyware/MS-PhoneHome rubbish IMHO. Wireshark is decent, when used as tshark.exe on the cmd line.
I use netsh.exe trace for some of my Windows 'tcpdumping'
I presume that tcpdump is just too 'UNIXish' to port to Windows directly; although Wireshark is based on tcpdump/ethereal I believe.
There alraedy is a Windows equivalent for tcpdump. It's called WinDump. ;-)
how about add dd and rsync equivalent cmdlet into powershell
We do need a powershell module that provide the cool network tool set.
