  1. Command Pane and Output Pane combined... Why?????????

    Votes from Connect: 10

    Feedback ID: 712014

    Frequency: Always Happens
Regression: No, this is new to the most recent version

    Problem Description:
The Output pane is gone and the command pane has been transformed into the frankly clunky blue powershell command prompt. Why? This is like taking 3 steps backwards.

I use the ISE to interactively manage my windows systems in much the same way that I use an xterm to manage my unix systems. I typically have many local and remote command tabs open separated…

    Frequency: Always Happens
Regression: No, this is new to the most recent version

    Problem Description:
The normal PowerShell host supports startup parameters which facilitate building custom shells (i.e. SCOM, Exchange, Admin Tools etc.) callable from the Windows Start Menu. These custom shells either call a startup script that then load modules or import a console files with customizations.

Unfortunately, PowerShellISE does not support any startup parameters. For the module developer creating solutions which specifically target PowerShellISE.exe and…

    Frequency: PowerShell ISE
Regression: Run the below code / view the timings

    $ip = '172.24.72.24' #amend for your environment

    $hostname = [system.net.dns]::GetHostByAddress($ip).HostName

    Problem Description:
Using Import-Module -Name "Module Name" imports the module, but breaks all output in the ISE. Using Import-Module "Module Name" imports the module and doesn't affect the output.

  5. New PowerShell Tab needs a toolbar button in ISE

    Votes from Connect: 10

Original Date Submitted: 1/18/2012 10:56:31 PM

    Description:
    Contact Information
    Handle: HalR
    Site Name: PowerShell
    Feedback ID: 719121

    Frequency: Always Happens
Regression: Yes, this happens in all previous versions

    Problem Description:
I would argue that in the ISE, the console should be treated co-equal to the script pane. If that's the case, why isn't there a New PowerShell Tab button just like there is a new script button? I would love to see a new toolbar icon to that effect.

  6. Saving file in the remote session has failed with error: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation..

Since a few weeks, when I edit a file in a PSSession in ISE I get this error message when I save the modifications:

Saving file: C:\path\file.ps1 in the remote session has failed with error: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation..

Not sure there is a link, but this problem appeared around the moment when this post has been published.
