  1. Get-Help needs to work better in the face of multiple versions of a module

I understand when Get-Help shows me multiple results for the same command when there are different sources of the same command e.g.:

    4> get-help format-hex

    Name Category Module Synopsis

    Format-Hex Function Microsoft.PowerShell.U... ...
    Format-Hex Cmdlet Pscx PSCX Cmdlet:

However this doesn't make sense when it is just different versions of the same command:

    8> get-help about_psreadline

    Name Category Module Synopsis

    aboutPSReadline HelpFile
    about
    PSReadline HelpFile

I think Get-Help needs to be smart about this latter situation and A) only list the version of about_PSReadline that corresponds to the loaded module or B) if the module is not loaded, display…

  2. Give the Set-Location CmdLet the abilty to go back to the previous location.

Give the Set-Location CmdLet the ability to go back to the previous location similar to "cd -" in Linux. Perhaps a switch parameter. This way we would not need to "remember" the previous location. This would be a simpler alternative to manually recording the current location before moving to the new location such as:
    Push-Location -Path (Get-Location)
    Set-Location -Path <New Location>
    <Do something>
    Pop-Location

  3. The "online version" URL in Get-Help -ShowWindow should be a hyperlink

When -ShowWindow is used with Get-Help (or the ? button is clicked in the ISE), one gets something like:

    RelatedLinks

    Online Version: <a rel="nofollow noreferrer" href="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=289793">http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=289793</a>

The URL should be clickable so that one gets the online version without the need to copy/paste the URL into the browser

  4. Add the ability to selectively include common parameters in module manifest

Module Manifest include options to selectively export functions, cmdlets alias, and variables; in the same vane it should allow the removal of common parameters for the exported functions / cmdlets. This would allow tool makers to create tools (utilities) which can use the auto-complete capability of powershell to guide end users as to what parameters they must supply on the command line; currently they are offered all the common parameters which does not make for good tool making - it leads to confusion for end users.

Thank you for the suggestion. Given the number of requests, we cannot field all recommendations, so for now we’ll be monitoring this to see if there is broad support.

  5. Export -Csv without Quote for numeric fields

I believe the standard for CSV formats mentions "Any field may be quoted (with double quotes)".
"May" doesn't mean "must". The following line is compliant with CSV format, but can not be achieved with Export-CSV
    Peugeot,205,2.0,"GTI 2.0"
Suggestion to have an option to impose double quotes only on specified fields.

Thank you for your input. Based on its current ranking compared to other feedback items and product schedule, work on this item is pending (and will be driven by) further customer input. If you did not open this issue and are also impacted by it, please vote this item up.

  6. Powershell Core should have a nuget package for release

It would be awesome if powershell core was released as a package on nuget.org as well as the regular means.

The reason for this is build systems like cake build can have tools referenced via nuget packages and will pull them down as part of the build.
