Thanks for the feedback, Jeff. You mentioned Win10 and Win7 here, but this site is for Windows Server feedback. You should create a feedback item for this at windows.uservoice.com.
If you think your feedback here is also applicable to Windows Server in a non RDS fashion, I can alter your text to say so. Otherwise I will close this item.

Howdy. There are already IOPS Perfmon counters in Windows.

These measure the classic raw IOPS, in terms on #/second of read/write/all

    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Disk Transfers/sec
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Disk Reads/sec
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Disk Writes/sec
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Disk Transfers/sec
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Disk Reads/sec
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Disk Writes/sec

    These measure latency:

    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk sec/Transfer
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk sec/Read
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk sec/Write
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk sec/Transfer
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk sec/Read
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk sec/Write

    These measure IO size:
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Disk Bytes/sec
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Disk Read Bytes/sec
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Disk Write Bytes/sec
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Disk Bytes/sec
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Disk Read Bytes/sec
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Disk Write Bytes/sec

    These measure average IO size:
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk Bytes/Transfer
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk Bytes/Read
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk Bytes/Write
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk Bytes/Transfer
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk Bytes/Read
    \LogicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk Bytes/Write

If I misunderstood the feedback please let me know. Thanks for providing it, nonetheless!

Hi. It's already possible to disable the paging file in all versions of Windows (run SYSDM.CPL --> Advanced --> Performance | Settings --> Advanced --> Change).

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are requesting, though?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure what you mean about Active Directory in this context though, or what this feedback specifically means. Can you please explain further?

Hi. Can you explain more what you mean here? I'm not sure how to use this feedback or idea without some specific examples of things you don't like.

    Thanks very much,

    Ned

HI Alvaro. Can you tell us more about what specific problem this solves for you? That might help other readers vote and support. Shipping a first party management app built into the OS itself is not something we typically do, for a variety of reasons.

Yes, or like Hyper-V Replica's test failover feature. Still agnostic to the workload, so not as feature rich, naturally. It's a feature many application replication products have, even with the DRP validation you correctly point out.

Side note: Please remember that this forum is not for bug filings, it is for feedback and ideas only.

I'm going to leave this item open for the Networking folks though, as they may not consider it a bug.

With that said, do you want to leave this feedback item as-is Claudio? I think all of its aspects have been addressed, and it is now a bit hard to tell what the feedback item means anymore. If you want me to close it to return the votes, then create a new feedback item with your request (single request at a time, please), I'll be happy to do so.

Got it, thanks Claudio. I have forwarded on to the ReFS team to review.

It's called "File Server for General Use" (or sometimes colloquially "General Use File Server").

There is more info on what Claus was talking about here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2013/12/05/to-scale-out-or-not-to-scale-out-that-is-the-question.aspx

Can you tell us more about why you need symbolic links and junction points in ReFS?

Mille merci! :) AD Users and Computers doe not have any import functionality, nor does AD Admin Center. It's just not part of their graphical nature - we generally leave bulk operations to PowerShell.

HI Hobo: Can you please write this in English so that everyone here can review and add their votes? It appears you are asking about the ability to bulk import group memberships using CSV, XML, etc. but my French is very rusty. :)

HI Christian. Can you explain this suggestion a bit further? Windows Servers have WSUS currently to patch them. Is the idea here for certain multi-server non-clustered workloads like IIS farms or NLB gated servers? Or maybe something else?
